Features to know about

Pulls Heat Out of a Hot Cabin

Advent Air AC Unit On Top Of RV

A sun-baked RV can hold heat well into the evening, especially after hours on the road or parked in an open campsite. This 13,500 Btu unit delivers 430 CFM of airflow to help bring cabin temperatures down and keep cooled air circulating, so the interior feels more comfortable when it is time to relax.

Ducted Airflow with Local Vent Control

ADB and inside view

The included AACDC air distribution box helps connect the rooftop AC to your RV's ducted airflow system, so cooled air can move through the ceiling ducts to vents around the cabin. It also has 2 adjustable louvers at the ceiling assembly, giving you added airflow control in the area directly below the unit. A reusable filter helps catch dust and debris before air moves through the system, and it can be removed, cleaned, and used again.

Keeps Roof Noise and Leaks in Check

Advent Air Foam Pads

Roof units can add vibration, outside air leaks, and water intrusion around the opening. A thick, collapsible gasket with foam pads supports the unit at the roof, seals the opening against water seepage and air leaks, and cuts vibration at the mounting point, so the AC keeps running while the cabin stays drier and quieter.

Easier Comfort Control from the Wall

Advent Air Control

When the cabin temperature changes throughout the day, it helps to have the controls where you can actually reach them. This system includes a hard wired, wall-mounted thermostat (wiring not included) with an LED digital display, letting you adjust the mode, fan, and temperature settings for a single zone. Add the optional remote controller (ADV67QR - sold separately) to make changes from your seat or bed.

Simplifies Install and Maintenance

Rooftop AC swaps get messy fast when sealing and maintenance turn into separate jobs. This unit uses a bolt on installation, includes a wiring harness, and comes with a UV-resistant hard plastic cover that can be removed for maintenance and cleaning, so you can get the system mounted, wired, and back in service with fewer steps. If you'd like help installing your airconditioner, check out our Installer Locator to find an installer near you.

Optional Upgrades for Startup and Cooler Weather

Some camping setups ask more from your AC than others, especially when you are running on generator or campsite power. The optional start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) can be added to help the compressor start more reliably. The air distribution box is also prewired for the optional heat strip (ADV34QR) which can help take the chill out of the air on cool mornings. These upgrades are not included, but they give you a way to build out the system for the way you camp.

2 people 20 min install was simple and easy! Blows cold air and is not loud at all! Great for the price and arrived on est date.

by:

This was a perfect interchange with the GE unit i had that was 3yrs old and died. I went ahead with the heat strip also and soft start. I cannot believe how much quieter this unit is! And a breeze to swap out! Only issue i ran into was the small square duct was a inch short, but nothing AC tape didnt fix! Thank you ADVENT and Etrailor!

by:

So far good. The mounting rods should be about 1/2" longer.

by:

So far so good had a slight problem with thermostat called company took care of it with no hassle very impressed

by:

seems well built - definitely gets cold! I like that doesn't require separate panel or knobs - clean install - definitely has enough screws to hold top on!

by:

Satisfied with the delivery. I’m in the process of installation
Thank you

by:

Works great but louder than we wanted. Much quieter than the Coleman Mach 5 it replaced

by:

Works great, easy to install

by:

Order this A/C had it installed during July! Worked great the first day! Hopefully it works for years to come. Fast shipping

by:

Works good cooled camper down from 84 to 74 in about 40 minutes. Installation was easy. Installed by myself in about 2 hours. Replaced ge unit so I didn't have to cut the hole in the roof.

by:

Unit was very easy to install. No screws to deal with. The outside unit sandwiches to this inside unit. The out side gasket comes pre installed on the unit. Price point is good. I installed it on a 2005 Jay Feather that did not have ac but was pre wired for it. The only issue I have with the unit is the touch panel is not very sensitive and feels very cheap. That's the only reason for 4 stars. But over all the unit puts out cold air and does what it's supposed to. Would buy again for a budget unit.

by:

This unit replaced an older Duo-Therm 13.5K BTU unit on our 1987 Avion, over the center kitchen. It was almost identical, a little narrower in length and width (the roof part). It installed easily and works great!
(I contacted Advent this morning to suggest they use additional packing material inside the shipping box to withstand rough handling during shipment.)

by:

My husband installed the unit on our 25' 1986 Airstream by building down to connect the inside air box. We haven't used it yet because of low temp since the installation but are confident that it will work well. We are very happy with the purchase.

by:

Install was good, wiring was confusing but I finally figured it out then when I went to install the thermostat, the connections section broke off so I had to order a replacement and do expedited shipping so I have it for my next camping trip!

by:

Unit was delivered and it was undamaged. Installed unit with no problems. I turned it on and it operated and cooled. The only problem was I couldn't adjust the thermostat, the screen lit up blue but the display would not show any data. I called Advent Air and they are sending me a new thermostat. Prompt service and very professional technicians.

by:

Great value! Fast shipping; really like that it comes with a start capacitor. Instructions were easy to follow. Much quieter than the 30 year old unit I replaced. Have my old 94 Dutchmen Classic some new life! Only issue I had was one mounting bolt didn’t want to screw in to unit; had some rough threads. I was able to reuse the bolt from my old unit without any issues.

by:

Can’t give honest rating yet because I can’t install it. All of the packages have not been received. The last package is still lost in UPS system. Until I receive everything I can’t install new ac unit.
So far not impressed. Once package has shown this many delays, a replacement should have been reshipped to me.

Outstanding product.
Thank you eTrailer
for providing a replacement for our original AC unit. Although the original lasted a long time, it decided to give up on us right before our first camping trip of the summer which had a forecast of being really hot. As I frantically searched for a replacement, eTrailer came to the rescue with the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System. Our original unit was 13.500 BTU, but we opted to upgrade to a 15,500 BTU unit which has been a great increase in cooling power.
The wiring was super easy to get figured out. And I had the entire unit swapped out and running in one evening.
One note... our existing system had a number of other thermostat wires that were not needed for this installation. In addition, there was a hot thermostat wire (12v) coming back from the furnace in the older installation. It appears that wire is not needed for the new system (based upon other online resources - but no explanation has been found as to what that was used for.) We simply cut it flush and taped the end to keep it from causing us trouble.
The system does a great job of cooling the unit and is much quieter than the original AC. We are SUPER happy with the purchase.

by:

So far so good, a relatively easy replacement of the existing unit (2019 Dometic Duo Therm) despite being manufactured under the updated 2025 coolant standard. Was stoked that the wires were labeled, way to go Advent! You'll need four wires to connect the wall-mounted thermostat. Many of the units made prior to 2025 require 3 wires, so running a new cable might be necessary if your current one only has 3.

by:

I appreciate your customer service. Briele was very helpful with information on the new Advent air conditioner. I will definitely be back! Thank you!

by:

So far I'm happy with the performance. Just installed and ran it for 15 minutes. The only issue was the mounting bolts were a hair short. I have a deep roof on my 2017 Springdale 5th wheel I guess. I had to cut the mounting bolts and use barrel nuts to extend their reach as they were a couple threads short to catch. I searched everywhere and etrailer had the best price.

by:

We have cold air! The system works great but is louder than expected from wind noise due to the design on the louvers. The thermostat cycles this unit on and off very frequently instead of cooling just past set and drifting just above as the dometic system did. The instructions don't mention how to configure the foam plenum for ducted systems. You will need to buy wire nuts for 120v and crimp connectors for 12v wiring. Buy a roll of aluminum ductwork tape to seal things and to cut down on wind noise. I have not yet wired in our furnace, I assume the singular brown wire will signal a relay if I buy one?

by:

As a tv tech this unit was very simple to install and light weight I highly recommend for a budget friendly ac unit

by:

Probably my fault but I thought this would run wireless. Not only did I have to figure out how to run a thermostat wire somewhere, I also had to figure out how to get 12 volt to it. And the thermostat broke trying to connect it to its base. The wire terminal blocks busted off. I had to try to figure out where to buy a replacement. After a few days I'm still not up and running waiting for parts. I think it will work nice once I can get it all together. Instructions could be better.

  • Replacement For Dometic AC 59516.331
Hi Collin, welcome back! The most economical replacement is going to be from Advent Air. You will need a complete system since everything moved to R32 refrigerant. If your upgraded thermostat is R32 compatible, or a smart thermostat that got a software update, you can potentially carry it over. Otherwise, you're going to be using the thermostat designed for the system since R32 electronics communicate differently. You can choose from the following based on capacity and color: -Advent...

  • Replacement AC for Coleman Mach 8000 on 2004 Winnebago Sightseer 35N
Hi David; the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR82PV you looked at is what we would have previously recommended. However, we have run into compatibility issues so I can't say with absolute certainty it will work as a plug and play replacement. Since everything has switched to the new R32 refrigerant following the 2025 EPA regulations now is a good time to swap out the entire system. This avoids the need for a complete replacement down the road if a...

  • Will The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System ADV87QR Work On A 2006 Forest River Lockwood?
Hey Kenneth, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the Advent Air System # ADV87QR is a great replacement option for your 2006 Rockwood 8317SS. Since it's a complete system, you'll be replacing the rooftop unit, air distribution box, controller, and thermostat together. With a camper of that age, that's actually the best route because the newer Advent components aren't designed to plug directly into the original Dometic control systems. The good news is everything is engineered to work together,...

  • Replacement AC Unit for Coleman Mach 48254c86
Hey Mark! We have run into a lot of compatibility issues lately so we are no longer recommending the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # ACCOL150B as a replacement. Even though the pins will line up with the 9-pin adapter we find that more often than not a complete replacement is necessary. To avoid finding out you need a new air distribution box (ADB) and thermostat while you're in the middle of the installation we recommend getting a full system. Also, AC companies...

  • Replacement AC for Dometic Duo Therm B59516.711C0
Hey Robin! I'm sorry to say that none of the Advent Air AC models are able to replace a Dometic Duo Therm like yours. What I recommend is completely replacing the system. Not only will this allow you to avoid any compatibility issues, it will allow you to upgrade to an AC unit with the new R32 refrigerant. All of the old R410A units and their parts are being phased out. It would be a shame to swap just the AC only to find out you have to replace the whole system a short while later over...

Hey Mike! The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ADV74QR is only designed to work with an R32 setup. Your old unit is going to be R410A, so the old components won't be compatible. Since everything moved to R32 last year due to EPA regulations a complete replacement is required. The correct replacement depends on your setup. • Troubleshooting E5 Error Code on Advent Air 13.5K Air Conditioner
Hi Joseph, An E5 error on an Advent Air 13,500 BTU unit like the # ADV87QR typically indicates a communication error between the rooftop unit and the thermostat/control box. Since the error appeared immediately after cleaning the coils and restoring power, I'd start by turning the power off for 5-10 minutes to let the control board reset, turn the power back on and check the communication cable between the rooftop unit, control box, and thermostat in case it came loose while cleaning...
